The restaurant is located in the hamlet of Coloreto, five minutes from the center of Parma, the capital of Unesco culture and gastronomy. It is a unique place, surrounded by greenery, which authentically represents the identity of the small Emilian villages. This corner of the Parma countryside, in the shade of the plane trees, is a witness and guardian of the history and traditions of the area.
The trattoria was founded in the 1920s, but as early as 1960 it became a gastronomic reference point for Parmesans fleeing the city. Heirs of a centuries-old tradition and different family managements, since 2005 Giancarlo Tavani, Gianpietro Stancari and Mattia Serventi carry on the history of the restaurant. The particular attention to the protection of traditional places and techniques, to food and the atmosphere has led to national and international recognition.
The welcoming decor of historic trattorias and a cuisine based on the territory are the characteristics that have always distinguished Ai Due Platani. Most notably the local quality ingredients: each supplier is chosen with great care and attention.
The philosophy of what we propose can be easily summarized: Freshly prepared pasta, Cured meats from small artisan producers, processing of raw materials in an authentic way, Gelato creamed with an authentic "Carpigiani" from 1964, local or international wines, from the most noble and known to small businesses. In the menus, great attention is dedicated to local recipes following the seasons with fresh and stuffed pasta, dishes based on farmyard meat and game, without forgetting new proposals made with more innovative techniques.

What matters is that there is an environment capable of making you feel good. From the first day we try to propose this atmosphere of the past and the dishes that most characterize us, without ever exaggerating. We are convinced that an endless menu is not needed, but a few dishes in their maximum expression, capable of becoming real references of taste and recognition ”
